Qantas were placed in a position where it had to review its output. As such a review of training was undertaken to deliver only those courses that were mandated by legislation. Qantas was accountable to each State and Territory under applicable legislation and these requirements had to be reviewed and each course validated as a mandated requirement. CSI staff were engaged as the subject matter expert on safety legislation and as safety specialists. Safety legislation has since been harmonised across all States and Territories except VIC and WA.
