This course was developed following a Defence review of the management of hazardous chemicals in a range of military and civilian workplaces. The course covered theory on the application of safety legislation, Defence policy and recognised workplace procedures for hazardous substances and dangerous goods. A one day practical exercise was included in the training involving hazard identification and a half day was devoted to report writing to get results. This course was trialled via a desk top review utilising the Group Safety Coordinators from each of the Groups and Military Services in Defence.
