CSI used its experience in policy writing to develop a safety management system for Blue Energy. CSI created a system based upon the future needs of the company when it went into production and after its exploration tasks had neared conclusion. This was a comprehensive system and the contract was expanded into creating a risk plan for drilling operations as part of the exploration phase. This risk plan was activated in an event where the Mining Regulator was called in to investigate the event. Blue Energy was praised on the comprehensive safety management system and the in-depth risk management plan for drilling operations which saved the lives of its workers and provided an adequate defence against prosecution.
