CSI provided expert advice to occupational hygiene assets in the WHS Branch on the review and modification of policy and the creation of a range of implementing procedures for the management of asbestos in Defence facilities, equipment and in soils. The interface between environmental management and the role of WHS was questioned on a number of occasions and the distinctions clarified in policy.
